About

I am an Associate Professor of Strategy at Sabancı Business School and hold the Hüsnü Paçacıoğlu Chair in Management. I received my Ph.D. from the Erasmus Research Institute of Management, Erasmus University Rotterdam. After three years as an Assistant Professor at Tilburg School of Economics and Management, I moved to Türkiye for a faculty position at the Faculty of Management, Bilkent University. I have been at Sabancı Business School since 2019. I hold master's degrees in Industrial Engineering from Boğaziçi University and in Engineering Management from Istanbul Technical University, where I also completed my undergraduate studies in Industrial Engineering.

I conduct research on strategy formulation and execution, corporate entrepreneurship, and behavioral strategy.

I study how organizations formulate and implement strategic decisions and the role of managerial agency in this process. My recent work investigates the effects of digitalization and AI on strategy and organizational design. At the intersection of strategic management and organizational psychology, my main research interests include managerial cognition, corporate entrepreneurship, and strategy process, with a special focus on top and middle management teams. I also strive to advance quantitative research methods for more reliable scientific outcomes.

Publications

I teach business strategy and organization theory.

I teach at the undergraduate, graduate, and executive levels, employing a wide range of teaching methods such as real-life cases, simulations, role-playing exercises, guest speakers, and debates. I have consistently high teaching assessments. I supervise master's and Ph.D. theses as well as post-doctoral projects.

Courses and supervision

I help organizations navigate strategic renewal and change.

I offer professional advice and guidance to organizations, adopting an evidence-based consulting approach, and I integrate my research and consultancy activities. Working with primary data (surveys, interviews, observations, experiments) and archival data (company reports, industry analyses, trends, databases), I employ multivariate statistical techniques to derive business insights and offer actionable solutions.
